So, you want to join the 501st Legion. Great! But where to start?
Before you can become a member of the Dewback Ridge Garrison and the 501st, there are several necessary steps to complete first!
STEP 1
Choose your Costume
You will need to know what costume you want to make. There are currently over 560+ approvable costumes in the Legion to choose from. If you are not sure which costume you may want to do, click below and view the available costumes within the Costume Reference Library (CRL) Gallery. You can browse by all costumes or by Detachment (homes of specific costumes and research/references) if you know which one the costume falls under.
STEP 2
Join the Detachment / Start Building Your Costume
We have a great source of people who can help, just ask.
Once you decide the costume, it is HIGHLY recommended to join the Detachment listed in the CRL of the chosen costume, as the Detachments are the keepers of reference information as well as homes of build works in progress (WIPs) of other members. As specialists of the costumes, they will be able to assist with questions you may have.
If you need build advice, our Garrison Membership Liaisons (GMLs) are also available for basic mentoring (no, they won’t build the costume for you) through our Discord server. Discord is also how we communicate outside of the forums, so it is recommended to join.

STEP 3
Complete the New Member Registration Form
Once you have your costume built, you will need to register with the 501st Legion before you can submit for approval. You will need to choose options for a TKID (our individual identification numbers). View current active members here.
Make sure you put, “Dewback Ridge Garrison” as the Garrison and select the costume you have completed from the list. Also make sure you read through the Legion Charter as it directly affects you as a Member.

STEP 4
Submit Your Costume For Approval
Now that your costume is built and your application is completed, it’s time to take photos for submission! You will need the following photos of you in your costume (you can click each one to see an example)
Front
Back
Left Side
Right Side
Helmet/Mask Off (if there is one, also do not redact yours)
An Action Photo (you can include approved weapons/props listed in the costume’s CRL here)
Any Detail Photos (parts with details called out in the CRL that may be hard to see in the other photos)
Once you have those ready, it is time to submit them to the GMLs for approval! To do so, fill out the following form and the GMLs will be in contact with either your approval information or any feedback/changes necessary.
*Note: you will need to use a Gmail email to log in for security purposes. There is no way around this and is a requirement by Google since other emails have had such a high security breach rate.
